The breakup of the Pangea Supercontinent, at the end of Paleozoic time (~240 m.y. ago), shows the birth of the Atlantic Ocean. This action is included here as an example of how we can reconstruct past movements of continents. In proper sequence this diagram follows Figures 10 - 11 & 12.
